I dunno if any of you watch the series, but I thought I would talk a little about it. This episode was a good one. I keep hoping that they will focus more on Eian and Mickey, but it still needs to be a larger part of the story in my opinion, of course I am bias too. The development of this seasons sorry line is going well. I think that they are doing a good job at making this seasons buildup very enjoyable to watch. It remains to be offensive to every person, but that's what it does best. I am excited how v they are going to finish v this season off, I wouldn't mind them getting Eian a new boyfriend for the end. I hope anyone who can will join in, I love to see and c hear different opinions! The episode only gets 4 stars because I feel that they could do a lot more with the Gay story line, God knows we have seen a ton of tits and sub-par stories with them. Naturally you would feel like they would put more focus on the Eian and Mickey story since it has been in development so long. Hopefully things will change, and they will use the story more. The stories that are building seem good, but some appear premature or rushed. Only time will tell if they will, but we can always hope.
I promise that I don't always give every movie 5 stars! It looks like every time I do a review I am giving it 5 stars, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that my review process is fairly new and I am still touching on my favorites and ones that I really liked. This movie is probably one of my all time favorites. I remembers seeing this preview when I was 10 years old and thinking to myself, "Man I would really like to see this movie.". I was finally able to see int in 2003 when I got a Netflix membership. Back to the movie, this movie centers around a British high school kid that is Gay and goes through the normal trial and tribulations; bullying, isolation, crushes, and trying to come out and express his feelings. He cruises a park after school to apparently hook up with other guys, and on one of those days the guy that he sets a hook up with happens to be the school's popular jock. He is what we would consider an all American, well rounded guy. He is charming, good at sports, and comes from a very prominent family. I feel that casting for him could have been a bit better, he was good looking, but when you think of a coming of age story with a hot jock that is in the closet, you imagine a very good looking guy. I would only consider him an average to slightly above average. Anyway, the main character (Steven) develops a relationship with John (the jock) and the movie takes the coming of age style story with the problems one would expect; the difficulty of living in the closet, wanting to be "real", continuing a relationship while hiding it from everyone, and finally Steven trying to navigate a relationship with John. Steven has a very funny best friend (Linda) who he discloses all of his secrets to and it slowly follow's her small story within the film. This movie gets 5 stars because when you are watching it you feel you are watching a very well-produced Hollywood movie. The cinematography is very good, I don't feel that at any point there was a flaw in the production or cinematography that lead me to believe it wasn't a well produced film. The story was very strong and easy to follow. You were able to develop good relationships with the characters and, the actors did a great job at playing those parts. They were very good and I would say that it was one of the best Gay movies from a acting/directing/production stand point. This is a great coming of age movie and it is worth the watch. I think after you watch it, it will be one of your favorites too.
This is one of my most favorite books of all time. Prior to buying this book, I was not much of a reader. I didn't care for it and didn't understand why everyone enjoyed it. This was one of the first books I bought and it was well worth the purchase. This was an amazing book. The character development is great, you really began to understand each character and develop a relationship with them. The book tells a story of love, heartache, and perseverance. I actually understood where the story was taking place, and the author does such a good job at painting a mental picture for your. Scott is a teenager who has grown up with a fair amount of money in his life. He wasn't rich, but he didn't struggle either. Scott knows who he is, but he doesn't want to tell everyone about it. He is looking for an out let and someone who can understand him. Ryan, one of the workers at Scott's parents restaurant's cousin, moves in because he is having trouble in his hometown. Scott and Ryan hit it off pretty quick, and as they develop a relationship their real affections begin to show. This book takes the reader on a ride of heartache love, passion, perseverance and heart as the boys grow and begin to understand who they are. I was attached enough to these characters that I didn't want to be done with them and when I found out there was another book, a sequel, I was so happy. You will blow through this book very quickly as it is easy to read and very captivating. Give this one a read, this is a wonderful book and I believe that you will be captivated.
Look forward for the review of the sequel soon, "Into This World Were Thrown"
I don't usually give 5 stars all around, but the fact is that this movie has great quality for the LGBT genera. The actors were believable, especially the main one, and you could tell that they have had experience in the acting filed. The main character is from General Hospital and has been in the game for quite some time. The story focuses around a millionaire who retires and discovers that he has all this time on his hand and has never really explored his sexuality. He has an overbearing sister, a nephew who is an artist, and a very cute dog. The story develops as he meets a gay man in the park as he walks his dog and they develop a relationship. It is a pretty predictable story for the most part, but it is a fun movie, and you feel good about it at the end of the day. This one is worth a watch I don't think that you will be disappointed.
This movie has a lot of heart. The actors seem fresh and have potential, and the majority of the time I believed it, it was more of an issue with the supporting cast. The main actors did the best the could and you could tell there was a a lot of heart from them, it just was what it was. The story is centered around a group of guys, majority of them Gay, in urban Toronto. Sticking true to many big city Gay films, the boys are caught up in drugs and turning tricks. I think a good aspect added is that the main character is from small town Canada and he narrates throughout the whole movie. It focuses on the struggles of this particular Gay youth, and the vicious cycle it creates. I think it could have touched a bit more on HIV, but the director and actors did the best they could. I felt that the story was a bit sporadic and at times didn't completely make sense, and there were some scenes that didn't need to be there. This would usually get 3 stars from me, but taking in account all the factors post-production and the heat felt acting from the main guys, it gets 4. This is worth a watch and just keep in mind the factors that surround the movie, I think many of you will be pleased.
As always, your feedback is very important to me so let a rip!
